2013 Titans Heroes Cup

Titans Heroes Cup is a charity water polo event that celebrates first responders, and promotes healthy living style for a benefits of children.

The very first Titans Heroes Cup was held on the Mooney's Bay beach in Ottawa, on July 27, 2013 and pitted teams representing the Canadian military, the Ottawa Police, the RCMP and city lifeguards against each other in a friendly beach water polo contest. These teams were composed of volunteer representatives for their respective organizations, many of whom had no prior or very little water polo experience. These local heroes competed in the water for bragging rights, all in support of two worthy charities, all the while exposing the crowds at Mooney's Bay to something they had never seen before: beach water polo. The winning team of the very first edition of the Titans Heroes Cup was the Ottawa Police team. In addition to the water polo games, a number of family activities were held on the beach, including free yoga lessons, volleyball, face painting, fun family-oriented games and free introductory water polo sessions.

The very first event in 2013 raised over $5,000 in donations, which was split between the CHEO Foundation and the Royal Canadian Regiment’s “Children of Fallen Soldiers Educational Fund
